The Barker Family, LLC, a black-owned business, has tremendous passion to assist people to look their best. Our first Brand is DER JOAN which is inspired by the former matriarch of the Barker family, Joan, who always instilled in her children to always do right by everyone. The first product is the body lotion Butter Protection that consists of a combination of natural oils, butters and gum that will allow for the moisturization and protection of the skin. For many of us who suffer with dark spots and blemishes this lotion is meant for you as well and it will smooth and even out skin in matter of weeks continuous use. As we grow our main goal is to allow for proper guidance to our customers as well given you all the best care for your skin.

Butter Protection Body Lotion

Product Ingredients

Water – diluent; allows the product to flow
Cocoa butter – moisturizer and used to lock in moisture
Shea Butter – moisturizer and moisture lock on skin; provides stability and structure to the product
Olive oil – gives lubricity and shine to the skin; allows the product to glide on skin
Vitamin E oil – gives skin the nutrients to rebound from a tough day
Vitamin A Retinol Palmitate – assists in skin rejuvenation
Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Guar – provides texture to product as well a film former on skin to lock in moisture
Phenoxyethanol – preserves the formula from germs and bugs so that it remains efficacious
Cetearyl Glucoside – emulsifier that is used to allow the oil and water phases to coexist
Fatty alcohols – (Behenyl, Cetyl, Cetearyl alcohol) – assists in blending of the ingredients into one formula and allows the product to stay together for a longer period time and giving the product added texture
Niacinamide – soothes inflamed skin
Sclerotium gum – provides texture and stability to the formula
